Who can be the nodes in this ecosystem?

Hi Blockcerts community,

I am a beginner and not sure if anyone had asked this question. Please correct me if I am wrong, having more blockchain nodes will be more secured in term of blockchain protocol.
In the case of 1 university issue a cert to students and employer/viewer views it;
How many parties can be the node? It makes more sense for those who is able to write to be node right? Please enlighten me :smiley: It seems not many parties could potentially get involved hence not many nodes?

In short, because Blockcerts is using a public blockchain, universities do not have to serve as a node. They will simply be registering signed hashes on the blockchain. They don’t need to create the infrastructure.
