Recipient address

Diagram of “https://www.blockcerts.org/guide/”: How it Works.
“2.” Indicates that the user address has been obtained.
Why is this necessary? . Do you do anchoring to the blockchain by sending money to the address obtained here?
Also, this address is the recognition set in “recipientProfile”, but is not used for verification. Required items?
Also, this means that each certificate is anchored to the blockchain, right?
Is this step necessary if you want to anchor several certificates together?

The recipient address should be collected and put in the recipientProfile. It is currently not used for verification on blockcerts.org but it does enable implementers to add recipient ownership to their product/workflow. Plus when a reference implementation is added, all current blockcerts would be able to participate given the address was supposed to be collected this whole time.
